Accuracy & corrections

Corrections policy

If ExpatTurtle gets a material fact wrong or an important rule changes, our goal is to correct the live guide clearly after verifying the issue.

What counts as a material correction?

  • An incorrect eligibility requirement, deadline, fee, tax rule, or legal requirement.
  • A claim attributed to the wrong jurisdiction or authority.
  • A price, product condition, or comparison result that materially changes the reader’s decision.
  • A source that no longer supports the claim made in the article.

How we handle changes

  • Material factual corrections: update the affected content after checking the relevant source and add a correction or update note when the history matters.
  • Routine freshness updates: refresh prices, links, wording, or processes when the underlying facts change.
  • Minor edits: spelling, grammar, formatting, and clarity changes that do not alter meaning may be fixed without a correction note.
  • Major reliability problems: content that cannot be made reliable may be substantially rewritten, unpublished, or replaced.

Report an error

The most helpful reports include the article URL, the exact statement you believe is wrong or outdated, and a current primary source supporting the correction.
